Green eyes, black hair, dressed in black and silver, yes. I had on a cloak, and it was slightly furled as by a wind. I had on black boots, like Eric’s, and I too bore a blade, only mine was heavier, though not quite as long as his. I had my gloves on and they were silver and scaled. The clasp at my neck was cast in the form of a silver rose.
Me, Corwin.

‘I am part of the evil which exists to oppose other evils… and on that Great Day of which prophets speak but in which they do not truly believe, on that day when the world is completely cleansed of evil, then I, too, will go down into darkness, swallowing curses. Perhaps even sooner than that, I now judge. But whatever… Until that time, I shall not wash my hands or let them hang useless.’

Corwin is a prince of Amber, born from the lineage of Dworkin and Oberon. While a few of his siblings exceed him in certain skills, such as at arms (Benedict), strength (GĂ©rard), and magic (Brand, Fiona, Bleys), Corwin is well-balanced in most and is the best leader of them all.

Corwin is a quick and strategic thinker. Like his brothers and sisters, he boasts remarkable endurance and regeneration abilities, even more so than his siblings. While Corwin acts with a strong personal code of honor, he is also extremely practical; he will not engage in a fight of principle unless he believes he has a chance to win, and he is perfectly willing to employ subterfuge to defeat an opponent.

His years on Earth seem to have softened him somewhat from the arrogant beliefs he had earlier in his life, particularly with respect to the rest of the family, and to the residents of Shadow, who are regarded by some in the family as creations of their own minds, to be used and abused as they see fit. He also improved his political skills and his swordsmanship.
